Welcome Kate Heaton

Other paperwork also comes through me for sorting and filing to alleviate some pressures from the staff, so they can focus and help the kids to the best of their abilities.  I'm really enjoying working with the staff and seeing the passion they have for helping the kids process their issues and grow in mind, body, and spirit.  It's a fabulous hands-on learning experience for me in my pursuit of my Master's degree and I'm extremely thankful for the opportunity I've been given.

Born in Fort Benning, GA, Kate spent several years moving around the country with her family.  Falling in love with the south, she has called Madison, Alabama home since 1992.  After attending a small liberal arts college to start, Kate ended up at Auburn University where she graduated with a B.A. in Psychology in 2009. She is currently pursuing a Master's in Counseling Psychology at Alabama A&M University in Huntsville, Alabama, with plans of counseling youth in the future. Kate is passionate about being involved with and helping youth through tutoring, coaching soccer, and serving on the board for the local non-profit organization, GOAL.
