Increase in Capacity Granted by DYS
Karen Lee and Dr. Charles Lee of Huntsville, AL started the program in 2005 after experiencing difficulties with their own teenage son. Ms. Lee recognized the absence of academics in most therapeutic programs. The Pinnacle Schools Elk River Program (ERTP) is a short-term therapeutic program with a full academic program as well. “Our program is a medical model that provides diagnostic, assessment and treatment services on a base campus which allows us to offer Physician-Directed Medication Management," Ms. Lee said. "We take seriously the motto of 'no child left behind.' Adolescents do not need the additional stress of falling behind academically while they are in treatment," Ms. Lee said.
Congratulations to the ERTP staff for an outstanding job in caring for troubled youth.
